Abstract
In
the end of 19th century, we known about pedophilia diseases. Pedophilia, also spelled paedophilia
, psychosexual
disorder in which an adult has sexual
fantasies about or engages in sexual acts with a prepubescent child of the same
or the opposite sex. The typical pedophile is unable to find satisfaction in an
adult sexual relationship and may have low self-esteem, seeing sexual activity with a child as less threatening than that
with an adult. Most pedophiles are men but the condition is rare in women.
Reactions of the child victim can range from fright, particularly if force or
violence is involved, to be wilderment or passive enjoyment. Besides, in any literary work such as novel and
short story, pedophilia complex’s character is always silenced. Naomi is one of
some novel that contains this pedophilia complex’s. In the story, the author
Junichirou Tanizaki gets the pedophilia character, Jouji, the salaryman who
falling in love with Naomi, the young girl who work at café. This paper aims to
analyze the attitude of Kawai Jouji as the reflection of pedophilia character
and the connection with Sigmund Freud psychoanalysis
theory.
